NOMFET stands for Nanoparticle Organic Memory Field Effect Transistor. Just like a transistor, the NOMFET is a 3 terminal device with a channel and a gate. In this device gold nanoparticles are placed in the pentacene channel giving it a similar structure to that of a floating gate transistor. It gives the device a memory behaviour within the classical structure of a transistor. Pentacene is a well known organic semiconductor.
